Well, I can't believe an entire year of design for Kaisercraft has finally come to an end!  I have had the most wonderful year and have been so very luck to not only work with beautiful products, but also to be given lots of fantastic creative opportunities.  I have also been truly blessed to have met the most spectacular women who I am now lucky enough to call friends.  Too happy really :)
Anywhoo...here is my last lot of Kaisercraft projects.....
Le Chateau Collection...

This layout was part of an inspired by post.  I based my inspiration for this layout on techniques used by the very gorgeous Renee Ludlow.  I used lots of texture and the papers gave a really lovely vintage feel!

This little canvas was created using some of the new wooden flourishes.  I love this little Chinese Proverb and the bird and birdcage were a perfect match.  Love how you can use these raw and they look fantastic.

.....a 21st birthday card.....

....this is one of my favourite pieces.  The frame is a btp - 'framed album' and the lines are from one of my favourite poems..."the Desiderata".  This piece sits happily on my scrapping desk and inspires me each time I see it.  Makes me smile when I create something that I love to look at over and over :)

Konstrukt Collection

My double page layout ....love these photos of Joshua.  What a cutie!!!

and  another 21st birthday card.  The wooden flourish keys are the perfect embellishment for these cards.

Well that's it for now.  Thanks for stopping by :)

Scrap that Poetry

Well, it's been an entire month without blogging and 3 weeks of that time has been consumed with caring for sick children.  It's the one thing I loathe the most about Winter....all the coughs and colds and germs!

Anywhooo.....here is the first poem for June over at Scrap that Poetry .....

The Giving Tree - June 1st
by Shel Silverstein

Once there was a giving tree who loved a little boy.
And everyday the boy would come to play
Swinging from the branches, sleeping in the shade
Laughing all the summer’s hours away.
And so they love,
Oh, the tree was happy.
Oh, the tree was glad.
But soon the boy grew older and one day he came and said,
"Can you give me some money, tree, to buy something I’ve found?"
"I have no money," said the tree, "Just apples, twigs and leaves."
"But you can take my apples, boy, and sell them in the town."
And so he did and
Oh, the tree was happy.
Oh, the tree was glad.
But soon again the boy came back and he said to the tree,
"I’m now a man and I must have a house that’s all my home."
"I can’t give you a house" he said, "The forest is my house."
"But you may cut my branches off and build yourself a home"
And so he did.
Oh, the tree was happy.
Oh, the tree was glad.
And time went by and the boy came back with sadness in his eyes.
"My life has turned so cold," he says, "and I need sunny days."
"I’ve nothing but my trunk," he says, "But you can cut it down
And build yourself a boat and sail away."
And so he did and
Oh, the tree was happy.
Oh, the tree was glad.
And after years the boy came back, both of them were old.
"I really cannot help you if you ask for another gift."
"I’m nothing but an old stump now. I’m sorry but I’ve nothing more to give"
"I do not need very much now, just a quiet place to rest,"
The boy, he whispered, with a weary smile.
"Well", said the tree, "An old stump is still good for that."
"Come, boy", he said, "Sit down, sit down and rest a while."
And so he did and
Oh, the trees was happy.
Oh, the tree was glad.

and here is my layout....

When I read this poem, I knew exactly what photo I wanted to use.  This photo of Noah was taken last May at my Mum and Dad's home.  They have an enormous Liquid Amber in their front garden that Noah absolutely loves climbing...all year round.  We have happy snaps of him when the leaves are a vibrant green and like the shot above...in all their Autumn glory.  I decided to hand write the following verse as my journaling....

Once there was a giving tree who loved a little boy.

And everyday the boy would come to play
Swinging from the branches, sleeping in the shade
Laughing all the summer’s hours away.

I always feel some trepidation before I start journaling by hand straight onto my layouts, but I love that they have some of my handwriting on them....and while it's not the most beautiful handwriting...it's mine!

The very talented Tessa  has offered a gift certificate from her gorgeous Etsy shop...
as a prize for the winner of our first challenge this month.  Tessa makes the most scrumptious flowers, so this is definitely a challenge to take part in!

Well, I'll be back a little later with some posts of my most recent Design Team work for Kaisercraft.  I have lots to share, so stay tuned!
